Anyway, I first off want to thank all of those who responded with the awesome name suggestions. I thought about all of them, and if I'm not mistaken, Evelyn popped up somewhere.
I really love the name Evelyn. But I'm having difficulty deciding which pronunciation I should use. I could say:
EH-veh-lyn
or
EE-veh-lyn

Honestly, I lik the first pronunciation better, but I also like the nicknames "eve" and "evie", and the second pronunciation would "allow" that, I guess you could say. "Ev" and "Ehvie" sound kind of weird, you know? But then, EE-veh-lyn sounds like "evil" and I don't like that:[. So, yeah, ideas?

Second thing about the name, the spelling. Evelyn looks...awkward to me, you know? But over the course of a week, how many times am I going to spell the name out, especially if it's a nickname? Not a lot, if any. But...still.
I think it's the "y" that's throwing the name off, so do you guys have any alternate spellings? Evelin?

I'd prn it the first way, because that's how my g-grandma says it. She goes by Ev, though.

I also agree it looks akward. I like the name but it looks icky written down. How about:

I LOVE the name Evelyn.

The first pronunciation is the typical one, and I don't think you should change it. IMO, you could still use Eve or Evie as a nickname.

Same with the spelling... You should keep the traditional spelling. I don't think it looks awkward at all. That's just my opinion though! If you don't really love how the name looks or sounds, you should probably look for another name.

My grandmother's name is Evelyn, pronounced the first way, and she gets called "Ehvie". I don't think it's bad at all, I actually think I prefer "Ehvie" to Evie, and hey, there's no rule saying you can't be named Evelyn and go by Eve or Evie. :)

I would definitely use "Eh-veh-lyn" as the proper name and "Ee-ve" or "Ee-vee" as nicknames. Evelyn is one of my favorite names and if I used it, which is reasonably likely, that's what I would do.

Here the name Eveline/Evelien is pretty common, I suppose in English they can be pronounced the same way as Evelyn (Eveline in particular). I pronounce it Eh-vuh-lin.

I definitely wouldn't pronounce it EE-veh-lyn... that sounds so strange to me, and people might not catch the name as easily and ask you to repeat yourself a lot, and then ask "do you mean like Evalyn?"

At least, that's what I'd expect based on other people I know who have names that are just a tiny bit different from the usual version of a name.

I think Eve and Evie are completely legitimate nicknames for Evelyn (if William can be Bill, then why not?) People know how the name looks written and how similar it is to all the Eve nicknames so it seems reasonable to me. But I also think Ev is a perfectly fine nickname too, if you want something that sounds more like Em. Evvie does sound a bit weird, but then if I think of it being short for Evelyn then it makes sense too. None of the - Ev, Eve, Evie or Evvie are strange or wrong to me.

Personally I'd keep the original spelling- Evelyn - especially because it's only for a week that you're using it! You're changing enough as it is with your entire name lol, it might get confusing having to spell your new name out as well as remember to go by it and all. That's just what I'd do anyway. Still interested to hear what you end up deciding :)

This is exactly my opinion. EH-veh-lyn, with EE-vee or Eve as nicknames are perfectly reasonable. Stick with Evelyn as a spelling.
