I recently gave birth to a little boy whom we named after his father and great-grandfather, Richard Houston Ray III. I had originally intended on calling him Houston to avoid confusion with his daddy, but that doesn't work for his dad because his uncle was named Houston and had a very traumatic death.

Any suggestions for a nickname? (Not DICK :)

Thought you all might appreciate this: My little sister has a boy in her class named Chief Justice. He goes by CJ. We... laugh at that lot.

Right now my favorite name is Liluye, I don't know where I found it, though. A lot of my classmates have interesting names... Oluseyi (it's pronounced ol-a-shey, and it really fits her) is always a fun one with substitute teachers.

I'm named Laurah. I see a big difference in personality between laura and laurah... what kind of appearance do you associate with the name Laura? What about Laurah? (I'll tell you what I look like and stuff afterwards :P)

Complete!

To finish: list your top five favorite names for each letter of the alphabet.  We're on girls' names, this time R-Z.  For girls' names J-Q, see this post.  For inspiration, try Behind the Name.

Again, please note that several names are least disliked instead of most liked.

I've never actually posted my name list on here, and I'm curious as to what you guys think.

Boys
Dean
Henry
Slade

Girls
Isla
Neva
Neve
Nova

By the way, I'm only fifteen, far from having children and everything, and I wouldn't ever consider using the last three girls names as a sibset.

So, I'm taking a class on medieval Spanish culture, and we just recently learned about the last Visigothic king of Spain, Rodrigo. In English, his name is generally anglicized as Roderick, though, and I seem to have fallen in love with that name.

Thoughts? It has a kind of romantic, knight-in-shining-armor feel to it, but I'm not sure how it would work on a small child. It doesn't really lend itself to nicknames aside from Rod, which I hate (and I feel would be a horrible nickname for a teenage boy), and Rick, which I like but am not overjoyed about.

Also - what do y'all think about the middle name Brien? O'Brien is a family name, and I've thought that it would be nice to pass that on in some manner, but it might be a pain considering that Brien is generally spelled (at least in the US) as Brian or Bryan. :/

My best friend and I were discussing what names we would name our kids if we ever had kids... weird.

Anyway, here were the names that were 'argreed' upon. His last name is also "Raymo" (Ray-mo)

Boys:
Logan
Chandler
Noah

Girls:
Charity
Danica
Summer
Taylor

Hands down, Summer for me.

I'm torn between Logan and Noah, mainly because of popularity.

(Note: He has a Jerry, Jordyn (girl), and Zoey. I have an Easton and Colson)
