I am currently 40 weeks and 3 days pregnant.

Originally our daughter was to be named Leila Margene Fischer - Margene after her paternal grandmother. Sufficient to say that she has done some things in the last few weeks that have changed our minds about giving her that name. We're still totally in love with Leila, we are just having a hard time coming up with a new middle name.

She has sisters by the names of Morgan Rain & Paige Elizabeth. My husband also detests traditional middle names like Marie, Rose, Ann etc etc.

We've discussed:

But are not crazy about any of them. . . Any ideas? THANK YOU!

I just read the newspaper and my eye fell upon a short article in which was told that Fiona Hering (who's apparently famous, though I have no clue who she is :P) just had her second child and named it Zola Zaza River.

I don't know about you, but both Zola and Zaza sound very feminine to me. Still, the kid is a boy. I *could* see River being used on a boy, but like it more as a girls name.

What do you think?

Oh, and his older sister is named India. I do like that name, though, but would never use it on my own kid.

I've been witnessing the increasing popularity of names used in the italian version. Before there were Veronica, Tatiana, Barbara, Irene, etc; now I also see Francesca, Stella, Amelia, Orlando, etc.
So there's one I'd like to suggest: Ludovica (prn Loo-do-VEE-kah), girl. It comes from the german name Ludwig and it means 'famous fighter'.

Okay so my friend is looking for Italian boys names!

she doesnt want anything like Mario, Luigi, Luca, Georgio. so i guess less common ones, or ones that dont have some weird assoctiation to something else in america.

Any suggestions?!

Does anyone else watch A Baby Story? I've been watching this show for years and it's always interesting! I am currently watching an episode with a couple of unique names...

Mom is Bernadette
Oldest child, son, is Aldo
Second, daughter, is Blaze
Third, son, is Ty
Fourth (the one being born), son, is Shea (pronounced as shay)

What do you think? I am not a fan of any except Blaze. I am on the fence about that one.

I was fooling around on and saw a book of "new age" baby names. Since I'm flat broke right now, I turn to all of you. What names do you consider "new age" name? If you have a list of them, feel free to give it to me because I'm intrigued by this concept.

So... I read the newspaper today and there were lots of names in it.
Names of children who have their first day of school today; and I noticed something:

Out of 135 names there were:

7 Michelles
4 Celines
3 Jeromes
3 Yannicks
3 Louisas
3 Tims
3 Lenas
3 Lisas
3 Hannahs
2 Toms
2 Annas
2 Moritzs
2 Alinas
2 Leons
2 Maxs
2 Justins
2 Nicks
2 Maurices
2 Lauras
2 Kevins
and 2 Lucas'

I'm especially surprised that there are seven Michelles... I've never met anyone with that name, although I knew it was there.

Also, names that I think are extraordinary:

Tabea, Kira, Mandana, Leandra, Frauke, Miguel, Canel, Delyna, Edwin, Saskia, Berke, Marwa

So... opinions? ^.^

22yr old girl i recently met: Amber-Leigh
her sisters are: Britni and Cheyenne (i'm unsure of their ages)

another girl i recently met: Joni (p. Johnny, not short for anything)
her sisters are: Sam (Samantha), Frankie (Francesca, i think), & Charlie (Charlotte)

wdyt of naming your daughter a girly name, then calling them a more common boys name, as their nickname?

Siobhan (pn Shi-vohn)

what do you think of it and what would be a good middle name. I tend to like pretty classic names.
