Aug. 6th, 2007 09:39 amI just read the newspaper and my eye fell upon a short article in which was told that Fiona Hering (who's apparently famous, though I have no clue who she is :P) just had her second child and named it Zola Zaza River.
I don't know about you, but both Zola and Zaza sound very feminine to me. Still, the kid is a boy. I *could* see River being used on a boy, but like it more as a girls name.
What do you think?
Oh, and his older sister is named India. I do like that name, though, but would never use it on my own kid.

Date: 2007-08-06 08:02 am (UTC)I've always heard River on boys, like River Phoenix and Samuel River Hanson (Taylor's son).
But Zola Zaza is utterly ridiculous. In my best case scenario, it sounds like a brazilian football player's nickname. It does sound masculine to me, probably because Zola reminds me of writer Emile Zola (male).
I like the sound of India, and 'river' is my absolute favorite meaning for a name, but I don't think I could ever use India because the association with the country is way stronger :/ although I have to say I'm really intrigued by their culture, so it wouldn't be all bad.
