My mom works as a preschool teacher and one year she had this really adorable little girl named Ama (pronounced AH-ma). Anyway, the name is of Ghanaian origin, and its meaning is "born on Saturday." I've always sort of liked the name.
WDYT?
Also, since it's Ghanaian and I'm...not, do you think it'd be odd to name my child this?

Date: 2007-12-13 11:56 am (UTC)apart from that little tidbit, i think it's a nice name. as for the ghanaian part, there are a bunch of names that people use without actually being from the place of origin. my name is naomi and we're most definitely not hebrew or japanese.

Seriously, if vowels only made one sound, life would be easier.
