Queen Victoria's daughters had three and four names:

Victoria Adelaide Mary Louise
Alice Maud Mary
Helena Augusta Victoria
Louise Caroline Alberta
Beatrice Mary Victoria

Mind you I wouldn't personally use Victoria as a first name, nor has Adelaide or Alberta ever crossed my lips, but don't they sound so pretty together like that?

I've always wanted to name a girl Eleanor. Beatriz because it's a generations middle name, and Mary is my grandmother's name. (For example: Eleanor Beatriz Mary).

What do you all think?

I LOVE it. I know it's not a particularly popular opinion because people say it sounds so tangled all together like that, but it's just so pretty. I wouldn't use all of the names upon introduction, but I do love long names, and I think I'll give all my children three names. It's especially pretty when there's a meaning behind the names, just like your example (Eleanor Beatriz Mary is stunning, by the way). One of my absolute favourite names is Audrey; Ileana is my grandmother's name, and Grace is a family name. Audrey Ileana Grace. It creates this feeling of wholeness. I love it.

My name is Eleanor and my sister's name is Mary, so I like them both.

And I think your three-name combination sounds better than Queen Victoria's.

I love the three name thing, but I find it really hard to make it work flow right.

Eleanor Beatriz Mary is pretty, but I personally think Eleanor Mary Beatriz flows better. That's just me though :)

Eh, I don't like three names at all. It's just too much and it seems so pretentious to me. Plus, when is the kid EVER going to go by all three names? Most likely they'll drop the second middle name on forms and stuff, so why even bother having it? Three names just sounds clunky.

We're concidering Victoria as a first name; Victoria Rose, as my bf likes Vicky.

Maybe...

Thank you! Though I think we've decided now on Devin Rose for a girl *laughs*, but it is a lovely name, I think. :D

I kinda like the 3 name thing. They need to go well together, though. We are thinking of having 3 names for our future children. Also thinking of adding my mother's last name as a second middle name for one or all of them. Not 100% on any of that, though.

Our biggest reason for wanting multiple names is our daughter. She had a two-part first name though, not hyphenated-- I really don't like hyphenated first or middle names, with a total of 5 names.

Her name was (fn, mn, ln in brackets) [Brenna Rose][Sherman][Brown-Hand]. Brenna Rose had been high in the running for girl names but not 100% decided, but we were pretty sure that was the one. We started calling her that, I think, before she was born. I gave birth prematurely and my memory from finding out gender to giving birth is fuzzy, forgive me. 'Sherman' was a spur of the moment decision-- my beloved cat 0f 13 years-- Sherman, had died 2 weeks before. Sometime I wonder if it was the morphine, but it was also a sweet homage to my kitty and a good luck charm to my daughter. ;)
