For those of you who have children, what did you name them and how/why did you come to that decision (why did you pick that name?)?

Seamus Eoin (pronounced Shaymus Owen). We chose Gaelic names to honor my husband's Irish side.
Seamus: because I've loved the name for years.
Eoin: Because it's John in gaelic (the hubs' name) and because it flows really well with Seamus AND it's short, and not *too* weird or *too* common, as Seamus is common enough!

The internet seems to be the only place people love the name. Everyone else goes "...wha--?"

I guess that's to be expected living in the US though (in a very NON-Irish area). :)
