okay, wow. I can't believe I am posting this type of name.
My due date buddy on babycenter has an almost 4 year old daughter. Her name? Brandon Eleanor. WTF? Why are mothers doing this to their little girls?!
And on another note, 4 people in my july 2007 birth club are already planning on using Nolan, and it's really bumming me out!

I don't like obvious male names on girls either, but the upside is that at least sometimes it doesn't cause a lifetime of misery for the child.

I asked her why she named her daughter Brandon, and she said it's her favorite name, and she wanted to name her first child Brandon no matter what.

However, Brandon Eleanor is awful.

I agree about people being influenced by other member's tastes. I know that even without 'meaning' to, I've completely changed how I feel about certain names after other people pointed things out about them that I'd never thought about.

And yah Nolan is a pretty popular name these days.

Are the 4 people using Nolan for a boy or girl? Were you planning on using that for a boy or something? I'm surprised that many people want to use it.

They both mean 'strength' and I liked that.
