I was at IHOP today and there was this woman there with her little (6 year old?) daughter named Angela. I don't know how she spells it, but it was pronounced an-JELL-uh. I don't know about you, but to me that is just so unnecessary. The poor kid is going to have her name mispronounced throughout her whole life. If I were her I'd just change it to AN-jell-uh when I got old enough to realize how dumb my parents were.

Date: 2006-10-15 06:02 pm (UTC)I mean sure it's not usual & people will mispronounce it but Angelica has the stress on the 'gel' it just so happens that Angela is the more common name.
My friend is called Anjeli pronounced an-jel-ee almost the same, so maybe it's Anjela.
I'm not saying I like it! Just that it's not the most illogical name i've seen.
