2 Questions
How popular would you say the name James is? LIke....how many people do you know named James? Also...do they go by James, or do they have nn's, such as Jim, Jimmy, Jamie? etc.
Also....does anyone have the link for the social security baby names website? That exists right? Where you can type in a name, and see its standing for certain years, etc?
Thanks for your help and opinions!

And my brother was always called "Jamie" when he was little, but all of a sudden he said "I'm JAMES, not Jamie..." and got mad when anyone called him that. LOL

Also, I looked through my yearbook, and I found four Jameses in the senior class ('87/'88), two in the junior class ('88/'89; one, I know, goes by Jimmy), two in the sophomore class ('89/'90), and four in the freshman class ('90/'91); amongst the students, there was also a Jay, a Jim, and a Jamie (I'm not sure if that's their real name or not), as well as another Jay and Jim in the faculty.
The Social Security's website is here (http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/), BTW.

james, without using a nickname for it, is a timeless name no matter how many people use it.

i adore the nickname jamie, but dont know anyone named james who uses jamie as their nickname.
i think its a common name, but its a classic, not uber trendy one, so its okay, imo.

If you are worried about James being too popular, you should check out this site: http://www.babynamewizard.com/namevoyager. I think James is actually decreasing in popularity as the number of Braeydans and such is on the rise.
