hi i'm new. My husband and I are trying to have a baby and we've finialized the name choice. For a boy it's Leonard James after his father and my grandfather and Christopher Kaden. For a girl it's Jadie Grace and Cayleigh Christabella. What do you guys think?

I have to confess that I have a bit of a hesitation about the Jade names that most people don't seem to have. It's vocabulary-based, so not a personal association, so I'll just tell you what it is and you can decide whether it is an issue for you or not.

The vocabulary word jade refers to the stone, but there is another word jade (with a completely different word history) that is used to refer to a broken-down horse or a strumpet. Now, I can almost guarantee you that no bully will ever know this: I've never heard it used this way in modern English, only in things I've read in lit. class... but I am enough of a book geek myself that it would prevent me from feeling comfortable using it as a name. (But I was also criticized for feeling uncomfortable using "Randy" as a name because of the British slang meaning (back before it was widely known in American slang), so take my opinion with a grain of salt, please!)

With Christopher and Christabella both on your name list, I gather that your faith is important to you. So with that in mind, Grace wouldn't be a filler middle name, but would have real meaning for you. I like that.
