Jul. 7th, 2006 03:35 pmhi i'm new. My husband and I are trying to have a baby and we've finialized the name choice. For a boy it's Leonard James after his father and my grandfather and Christopher Kaden. For a girl it's Jadie Grace and Cayleigh Christabella. What do you guys think?
Your female names
Date: 2006-07-08 12:08 am (UTC)The vocabulary word jade refers to the stone, but there is another word jade (with a completely different word history) that is used to refer to a broken-down horse or a strumpet. Now, I can almost guarantee you that no bully will ever know this: I've never heard it used this way in modern English, only in things I've read in lit. class... but I am enough of a book geek myself that it would prevent me from feeling comfortable using it as a name. (But I was also criticized for feeling uncomfortable using "Randy" as a name because of the British slang meaning (back before it was widely known in American slang), so take my opinion with a grain of salt, please!)
With Christopher and Christabella both on your name list, I gather that your faith is important to you. So with that in mind, Grace wouldn't be a filler middle name, but would have real meaning for you. I like that.
Sorry, I have to run - let me finish up the other two later on, okay? I hope this has helped you so far!
