babynames1. What is your preferred spelling of /Lee/? I always think of Leigh for a girl and Lee for a boy. But I'm sure you could write Li, Lei, Lea, or other possibilities. What seems "normal" to you?
2. How do you feel about nicknames? My husband is a "my name is Daniel, NOT Dan, thankyouverymuch" kind of person. He believes you should name the child what you plan on calling it (if you want to call your kid Tim, name him Tim and not Timothy). I'm on the other side. I wish my name (Sarah) had an obvious nickname, because I think nicknames are friendly and/or intimate. Where do you stand?

Date: 2006-07-07 01:02 am (UTC)2. I love nns. I like the options. I like being able to give friends permission to call me something more intimate, while in professional situations I have a more formal name to use. I just like them.
My sister's name is Sara and she goes by Sally.
