My Great Grandma Parthena (Gramma Valya) married Michel (pronounce Michele). They had three sons named Tanas (pronounced Tuh-nahsh), Yura (my grandpa) and Nikola (Colya).

*Edit* Parthena is Greek, Michel is Russian, and they raised their children in Turkey, so the names may have Turkish influence. Nikola is definitely Russian.

What are the ethnic backgrounds of some of the names in your families?

What is the ethnicity of that side of your family?

I have lots of Amelias, Louisas, Charlottas and Isabels from both the German/Eastern European side and the Irish/British side.

The men were commonly named Levi, Conrad, Peter and John.

My mom is a fantastic geneaology researcher so I have a wonderful family tree to browse for names. And I love family names!
