I stumbled across this community yesterday and, after scrolling through some of the posts, I thought I'd share a few of my favorite names. Bolded are the names I plan on using for my children someday.

Boys : Fox, Rhys, Holden, Theo (pronounced Tay-oh), Callum, Naoise, Eamon, and Dresden.

Girls : Peter Rene, October Jude, Clemence, Margot, Saoirse, Eira, Emory, Joss, and Maude.

Thoughts?  And any good opinions on middle names for Fox and/or Callum?

A lot of your girl names I feel are very masculine. Peter for example, I could never see on a girl. Same with Emory, and Jude. (even though I knew a nun Sr. Jude) I like Margot, Saoirse, Eira. Clemence and Maude I feel are really "old" names and aren't my style, but they aren't terrible.

For guys, I like Fox, Rhys, Theo, Callum, Eamon. I've never heard of Naoise and don't know how to pronounce it. Dresden isn't my style, but again isn't terrible.

No suggestions on middle names, sorry.

Naoise is old school Gaelic and it's pronounce like NEE-sha.
And I do love boy names for girls, but in a less conventional way than Sam, Charlie, or Joey.

I like most of the boys names, except Dresden (makes me think of Slaughterhouse-five), and I've never seen Naoise... how do you pronounce it? I love Eamon.

I'm not sure about Peter on a girl, but October Jude is growing on me, and I like Margot, Saoirse, and Emory.

Your style seems a little out-of-the-box, so I tried to come up with some middle names to fit; forgive me if I've misread your style.

I love your suggestions! They match my style really well... especially Ezra, Finch, and Brigham. Naoise is pronounce NEE-sha. It's Gaelic, like Saoirse.

Theo would get pronounced the way it sounds. It'd be really hard to get people to pronounce it right.

Peter is a boys name period. To me I wouldn't even consider naming my daughter that.

You do have some creative not-so-common names and I love not-so-common names!

Honestly, I heard Theo pronounced that way in a French movie and loved it. I do love Peter for a girl but no one I know likes it so I'm not surprised that it's not exactly a hit here either! Funny thing is, I heard Peter for a girl on a movie as well... hmmm, maybe I have a pattern.

1.) Even though our naming styles are waaaay different, you are super friendly. I like you. =)

2.) I like Rhys, Holden, Theo as a nickname, Renee spelled this way and Margot. I have a (male) cat named October (solid black), and we call him Toby. October was a guilty pleasure name for me, so I used it on a pet. I like it, but I can't see it on an actual human.

I think a lot of your names are a little out there and are hard to see on real children. You might want to think about how a girl named Peter will have difficulty in her life with everyone assuming she's a he. (October Jude also sounds really masculine, and most people who saw it written out would probably assume boy.) Think about school rosters, job applications, college applications, etc.

I spelled Rene that way because it's my mother's middle name. Also, no one I know likes Peter for a girl except my mom so I understand. I just have my own opinion of it... and all other opinions are welcome!

I actually really like Jude on girls, and even though I don't like October I could see that on girls too. That said, I really don't like Peter Rene for a girl. It's just a plain male name to me. And this is coming from someone who generally likes unisex names!

As for Naoise...I saw the pronunciation in some comment above and I like that...but at first glance it looks like 'noise'.

I do like Fox, Rhys, Theo, Holden and Eira. The other girl names are not bad at all, but not really my style.

Apparently, I'm breaking boundaries with Peter, lol! I like that spelling for Naoise because it's the correct Gaelic spelling... and it's pretty... but I agree it could be mistaken for noise.

For boys I like Holden. I think Theo would be pis-pronounced ALL the time, which might get annoying for him.

For the girls I love Saoirse! Clemence is nice but I think I prefer Clementine. Would Joss be a nickname for Josselyn or a stand alone?

I heard it pronounced that way in a french film long ago and loved it, but it probably wouldn't be pronounced correctly if someone were reading it. But people mispronounce my name upon reading it!

I think Fox sounds a bit silly, to be honest. And 'Peter Rene' for a girl? What? 'October Jude' also just screams 'look how different I am!' Callum is on my list, with the middle name Noah. I really like Callum (obviously), and Rhys, which is also on my list. Holden is quite nice. I like October and Jude, but not together. Saoirse is on my list. Peter, I think, would be awful on a girl. Especially with the masculine spelling of Rene too.

Fox, Holden, Tayo, Naoise, and Dresden are awful. (Fox speaks for itself, Texas Hold'em (or worse), Mayo Tayo, Noise, and "That city we firebombed in WW2" are terrible names for anything more sentient than a gerbil. Emory is that fat guy from Rose Red, or a city in Georgia.

Peter Rene is a boy's name. Joss is probaby a pornstar. October Jude definitely is.

Wait a minute...Naoise is a boys name? I thought it was difficult enough as a girls name (because of the spelling/pronunciation difference), but "Neesha" on a boy? Most certainly not, at least not in the US (where I am)! I know several "Neesha"'s (various spellings), and they are all very female, LOL.

The only one I really like from the girls names is Rene.

Also, I actually think "Callum Fox" is good together! :-P

Naoise is traditionally a boys' name. I know a couple guys name Mischa or Misha so I never thought anything was weird with Naoise except for the unique spelling lol. But most Gaelic names have interesting spellings, but I like it!

I really like Rhys, Clemence, Saoirse and Eira (it's also a Finnish name!). Dresden is so incredibly gloomy name, he probably wouldn't enjoy it much during history classes :/ Peter Rene and October Jude just would sound like you wanted a boy and that can't be really good for the poor girls confidence.

I like Theo (with your pronounciation....though that might prove difficult in an English speaking country), Callum, Rhys, Eamon and i kind of like Fox too. As for your girls names I like Margot, Saoirse and Eira ( I think...not sure I know how it's pronounced, but it looks pretty). October Jude is okay, I guess....I'm not a big fan, but I don't find it horrible either.

As for Peter Rene, I just don't think it's a good idea. I don't think that adding an extra -e to the end of Rene would make it honor your mother any less...it's not like it was her who chose to spell her name that way in the first place (I assume). Also, I don't think it's a good combination of names in general, simply because it doesn't flow very nicely in my opinion....
Have you even considered Petra Rene(e)? Another thing you could do would be to just maybe add a second middle name? One that's clearly 100% feminine...As opposed to the other two which (in my and most people's opinion) are clearly 100% masculine? This way your daughter would at least have the option of going by a female name if she wanted to...
