One of our customers at work is called Michael. Common enough, right? Except that Michael is a woman. A friend of mine tells me that Michael can also be a female name, but I'm not so sure.

Princess Michael of Kent doesn't count - her name is actually Marie Christine :P

It's Hebrew, and pronounced mee-CHAL, with that guttural Hebrew ch sound as in Chanukkah.
