OK my fiancee is 1/2 Italian... and the other part American/German/ Dutch...
and I am a european mutt hehehe...
He is really close with his Italian side and proud of it (his grandparents came straight from Italy to Ellis Island)
the problem is we like all these Italian names but his last name is very German/Dutch...

Will it sound bad having an Italian first name with a German/Dutch last name???

Since it doesn't bother Italians living in Italy, why should it bother him outside Italy? My dad was brought up partly in Italy (and partly in Africa), not speaking English, with an Italian first name and a British surname. Since it is an easy one for Italians to pronounce, no one (to my knowledge) has ever even queried it. His siblings all have very Italian-sounding first names and his two sisters' married names are British and Austrian respectively. It's fine.
