SSA Popular Baby Names

Jacob is number one for boys, Emily is number one for girls. Respectable, traditional names, yay. Naveah has been pushed to number 31 from #43 (*cringe*), Aidan has fallen ten spaces (but Aiden has risen five),  Madison has fallen two spaces (still in top ten), and Jayden has gone from number 49 to 18 (not surprising, but no less unfortunate).

Really? Last summer I volunteered at a daycare, and there was this absolutely stunning, freakishly intelligent three-year-old girl named Olivia. I've met others, too, in the newborn-kindergarten age group. Some names, I've noticed, are really prevelent in some areas and nearly absent in others.

yeah i've actually never met a little girl named emma, madison, isabella or ava either but i at least know of people who have given their children those names. olivia is completely unheard of. the only olivia i've ever known is a year younger than i am.

but then again i pretty much live in a nevaeh/jayden area to begin with, so.

I've seen Emmas and Madisons by the dozen, but more trendy/kre8tyve names reign in DC rather than the understandbly-popular classics (though Madison is by no means a classic). -_- I come across the classics (Ava, Sophia, Isabella, Caleb, Jeremiah, etc.) when I'm in Boston, though.

I'm more likely to see good names butchered or just plain ugly ones.
