First of all I miss spelled it, it's Tenley, she is a one of my preschool kids. She is named after a family friend Tenley Emma Albright, an American figure skater who contracted polio at age 11, but won the U.S. figure skating championship in 1952 and the silver medal in the 1952 Olympics. In 1956, she became the first American woman to win the Olympic gold medal in figure skating. In 1976, Albright was appointed to a seat on the U.S. Olympic Committee, the first woman to hold that position.
This is a picture of her.

See! Not a made up name!

Date: 2008-02-29 06:21 am (UTC)while your argument that all names are made up at some point is correct, i'm still not a fan of obviously made up names. i'm all for using surnames as first names and boys names as girls names (though i really dislike typically fem names on males) but something irritates me about new spellings and new combinations, like britley, for example. i do think a lot of your names are really cute though, and as long as YOU can see the names working on the kid when it reaches adulthood, that's all that should matter.
also, i really like twilight as a middle name.
