First of all I miss spelled it, it's Tenley, she is a one of my preschool kids.  She is named after a family friend Tenley Emma Albright, an American figure skater who contracted polio at age 11, but won the U.S. figure skating championship in 1952 and the silver medal in the 1952 Olympics. In 1956, she became the first American woman to win the Olympic gold medal in figure skating.  In 1976, Albright was appointed to a seat on the U.S. Olympic Committee, the first woman to hold that position.
This is a picture of her.

See! Not a made up name!

Doesn't mean it isn't made up.

It just means that they didn't make it up first. =P

What's the big deal? I like it. Tenley. It's cute! Who cares if it's made up? And even better, your preschooler is named after someone pretty awesome. :)

I don't mind them either :)

I think it makes them even more unique. At some point every name was used for the first time!

I like Tenley and I'm all for "made up" names. My number one boy's name, Tykin, is from a dream where I had a little boy with that name. Then again, I went back and looked at your old list (I must've missed its original posting) and I liked most of your names. Hero (g) and Phoenix (b) are two of my very favorites, but they sound terrible with my boyfriend's last name.

I totally understand where you're coming from as I feel the exact same way. I know that quite a few members here no longer frequently post because the other members will pounce on your favorite names and tear them to shreds. There are a couple of commenters who, I find, extremely rude, but it does no good to argue with them. Most of the people who have posted here and tried to argue have ended up just leaving the community in frustration.

Thanks! I like Tykin too. He will probably just go by Ty most of the time, but I still love the whole name. My number one girl's name is Kaylea (pronounced Kay-lee), which, if I remember correctly, was on your list spelled differently? =)

I'm sorry, I must have missed your list. Where/when was it posted?

Hey, I know a little girl (who is around 18 months old, I think) named Tenley. The name's not really my style, but I think it's cute.

I missed your last post. I would have come to your defense if I had seen it.

I am familiar with Tenley Albright, and knew that the name wasn't made up. And if I had to choose a T name for my child, I'd consider Tenley.
