One of my dear friends from college became an aunt today! The new baby niece is named Stella Claire.

Why, why, why would a parent spell a kid's name Brryan? I'm reading an article right now about a guy named Brryan, and every time I get to his name, I am thinking Brrrrrrrrrryan.

it's a really heartbreaking article, though. here's the link if anyone is interested

I hope this hasn't been posted already...

I was killing time on Lamebook.com today and ran across this post.  I thought the community might appreciate (or, more likely, be appalled by) it!

For those who don't like to/can't click on links, a mother named Brittany is talking about names for her unborn child.  For a girl, she likes ZaRhianna (pronounced zar-e-ona) Renee, or Xoche' (so-chel-a) Renee.  For a boy, she's considering Zayden Jay or Zavion Ross.

She also adds that she likes Zevidian for a boy and Zehvidia for a girl.

Here's to hoping she has a boy (even though her boy names are still pretty iffy...).

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to get the "so-chel-a" pronunciation out of Xoche'.  Maybe it's a typo?

There are three new babies in my life, so I thought I'd share their names. No travesties, thank G-d.

Evelyn Elizabeth (Yes, my friend went with Evelyn. Elizabeth is a family name on her husband's side. Apparently all women have Elizabeth as a middle name- she didn't love the trend, but went with it anyway.)

Adrienne Olivia

Trevor William (Joins brothers Ryan and Shane and sister Kaitlyn. I was expecting a more trendy name, to be honest.)

In one of the previous posts, the name "Helisent" occurred. Since I was intrigued, I did some googling, and it led me to this: legitbabenames.wordpress.com/category/inuit-names/ website. Very interesting!

It has common names like Elizabeth, Catherine and Nicholas as they are used in different countries, languages and time periods. According to that website, "Helisent" is a Medieval form of "Elizabeth"! I quite like it.

Since it appears to be some kind of blog, I can't guarantee that what's on there is correct, but I thought it was fascinating nonetheless.
