Same name, different language/time
Dec. 2nd, 2010 08:19 pmIn one of the previous posts, the name "Helisent" occurred. Since I was intrigued, I did some googling, and it led me to this: legitbabenames.wordpress.com/category/inuit-names/ website. Very interesting!
It has common names like Elizabeth, Catherine and Nicholas as they are used in different countries, languages and time periods. According to that website, "Helisent" is a Medieval form of "Elizabeth"! I quite like it.
Since it appears to be some kind of blog, I can't guarantee that what's on there is correct, but I thought it was fascinating nonetheless.
