My mom came by last weekend and brought an old local newspaper with an article listing the most popular names at our hospital for 2009. (I don't get the paper myself, so hadn't seen this before)

Most common names 2009:
Sophia (15)
Olivia (10)
Brooke (9)
Ashley (7)
Runners up:
Isabelle, Grace, Elizabeth

Daniel (9)
Matthew (9)
Michael (8)
Dylan (8)
Andrew (7)
Benjamin (7)
Ryan (6)
Runners up: Alexander, Samuel, Jayden, Lucas

Then there's "Names of interest":
Honesty, Serenity, Clementine, Mitley, Eden, Piper, Farrah, Harper, Brooklyn (all girls), Wisdom, Atticus, Myles, Terrence, Thorne, Fearghus, Winston (all boys)

What do you think? My thoughts in the comments.

...really?

for one of my classes, i'm required to weekly participate on a discussion board. because it's through school, i'm treated to a view of people's legal first and last names. i came across "baby-ariel". now, i'm not a fan of hyphenated names in general, but wouldn't you thin that her parents would've realized that she'd grow up? she's in college now, so i think it's safe to say that she's not a baby anymore... (i hope she goes by ariel...)

A man came into my work yesterday whose legit first name was Sherlock.

Since Shutter Island is coming out soon, I was looking up the stars; Mark Alan (Ruffalo) is married to Christina Sunrise and they have three children: Keen (b), Bella Noche (g), Odette (g).

WDYT?

A friend of a friend I came across on Facebook: Vyvyan

It actually took me a minute to realize that it's "kry8vve" way to spell Vivian/Vivien/Vivienne. Looks like she's about 15.

I hate it, personally. What do you think?
