I found this site like 9 months ago and wished I had seen it when I was pregnant with my daughter. I found out I was pregnant again around month 5 and am due september 27th... but 2 weeks ago i was dilated 4 cm so it may be sooner. My bf and I just started coming up with names yesterday and my mind is blank. I just also found out its a girl instead of a boy which i was sure of. So anyway.. I want some good ideas to help me contribute to the list.
Her sister's name is Serenity Cadence and I regret her name is so long.. but i still like it.
One name I thought of is Veera, it was my great aunt's name and I liked it. My bf has come up with:

Gweniveer (something his mom always liked)
MaryJane (of course)
Freya (I like it but I feel like it's a super common name in the "I name my kids river, canyon, and purple crowd".. though that shouldn't mean anything)
My mom likes Sandra (yuck) and shayla (no).
I like Olivia but my cousins daughter's names are Olivia and Serena, trend?

My brother just had a baby girl a couple months ago, too. Her name is Lois Valentine.

For sure I know that I don't want a made up name or an oddly spelled name. Just a relaxed, simple, nice name that isn't too common. We may use either Diana or Susan as a middle name in honor of her deceased grand-mother or Leigha/Lee because her grand-father's middle name is Lee and my bf wants to include him somehow that way.. I kind of would like Alice in her name in honor of my grand-mother... :) but that's my middle name. I decided that if she has features more like my family, I'll fight for Veera/or Gweniveer as Veera being her nickname. Anyway, when she comes I may not like any of these name.

These are my favorite names. My name list seems to be pretty negative.
http://www.babynames.com/namelist/9515034

Girls:
Allegra Sage
Catriona Jocelyn
Evette Veronica (nn Evie)
Wilhelmina Celeste

Boys:
Bryan Alexander
Garrison Culver (nn Gary)
Jacob Gabriel (nn Jake)
Lucas Brendan (nn Luke)

I will definitely use Catriona Jocelyn for my first girl. I really like Catriona spelled this way. Whenever I mention this to people they're always like "Why don't you spell it the normal way?" I wouldn't call Katrina the "normal" way, it's just one way of spelling it. I like that Catriona is different. It is also the title character in one of my favorite books so that makes it extra nice for me. I know I'm going to have to correct people all the time but I don't care - they'll get used to it. Jocelyn would be the middle name in honor of my Aunt Joyce. I think Catriona Jocelyn flows well and the name together means "Pure Joy" so I really like that.

Evette Veronica would be in honor of my grandmother (her middle name was Veronica). And I love the nicknames I am using - Evie, Gary, Jake, and Luke. Overall, I know my boys names are more traditional than my girls names, but I really like them. I don't think they're boring and I think all of them flow nice too.

As far as the negative feedback goes, I'm hoping that these names are just not people's style as opposed to people thinking that they are absolutely horrible. LOL At any rate, at least they're all real names. ;)

My husband and I are expecting a boy in October. I am dead set on Odin Lennox. He's having second guesses. What do you think?

i was talking to my boyfriend last night about baby names, which is something he doesn't usually participate in, but this is the first time he's brought up a valid point as to why he doesn't like the names i like:

i like names like katherine, cecilia, lillian, ect. he thinks they sound old, and he said he doesn't see anything wrong with "trendy" names because he thinks the names should fit the child's generation.

he doesn't have any names that he does like, really, but that was his main reason for not liking my names. i'm not planning to have children for at least another eight years or so and he very well not even be the father, but i'm still curious as to what you all think of that.

I have recently picked up the book Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift. I really like the name Gulliver, (enough to really think about using it on a future child). Its really unusual and to make it even more so, I think I would love it on a girl. WDYT? Is it too out there?

Hi, my name is Megan, I'm 20, and I'm a name nerd. :D

Seriously, I am. I'm not pregnant, won't be having kids for six or so years. I just looove names. (I think it's because I was born in the middle of the Megan boom, and so my name is rather common and I've never liked that about it.) But I'm not alone, so it's all good! Anyway, I've got a name list if anyone wants to check it out: http://www.babynames.com/namelist/9546796

For the record, all my kids will probably have two middle names, one of which will be a family name. I've got a couple three name combos for my top names - everything else I'm just playing with.

That list is only a small sampling of my favorites. I have a huge list of approximately 320 names. I like names from all kinds of styles. Old fusty names, top 100 names, unusual names, girly names, unisex names, you name it. Pretty much the only name styles I generally don't like are kre8tyf and boy names on girls.

Also, very few of those combos are solid, so if you have any suggestions/comments, let me know. :)

My spouse and I are btoh of Irish/Gaelic decent, and wanted our son to have an authentic Irish name. We chose: Killian Braeden Wrigley. And it's a sure thing, but...

What do you all think?
