Greer is unique enough that when I hear it, all I can think of is Brooke Shields. Sorry.

I have never personally known a Greer, but I went to middle and high school with a guy named Stash (well, Stanislaus, but he went by Stash. The A sounds like the o in stop, not like the a in stat) whose sister's name was Gregoria, with the nickname Greer. They also had another brother, Thaddeus, who went by Thad (said like tad).

I don't think it's horrible, but it's definitely not one of my favorites. Not a fan of Edin/Katrin, though.

I think that [in Australia at least], a child named Greer would immediately be associated with Germaine Greer.

Not necessarily a bad association, but anyway.
