I was watching Ghost Hunters the other night and saw some interesting names on this one episode.

Thaxter (male) - I found the name kinda funny sounding
Pi (female) - never seen this as a name

I apologize if this has been brought up before i haven't been watching the community very closely lately but i have to talk about this name.

Marley

I am starting to see this name everywhere. An explosion of Marley's are being born.
Boys & girls.

I kinda don't get it.

Suppose you were a celebrity and wanted to name your kid something crazy as they seem to so often do. What would you pick? An object? Adjective? Apparently anything goes...

Here's mine...

Boy: Dirigible Spork
Girl: Sunsette Evian (With sunset intentionally spelled wrong. haha)

Of course, I'd never really do this. ;)

I really like the name Cyrus for some reason. I heard it on t.v and liked it. Plus it isn't something that is popular. My question is what middle name sounds good to you with this name?

What are your favourite girls names that start with "J"??

The only two I can think of are Jada and Jorja (prn like Georgia). And before you all jump at me about the spelling, it's just a guilty pleasure!!

Hello!

Hello, all! I'm new to the community. My husband and I aren't expecting any time soon, but I still am intrigued by baby names.

I've seen some people post family names here, so I think I'll start off by doing that, too. I don't know everyone's middle names, but I'll do my best.

Sammanthia
Pron. like Samantha, goes by Sam. I think Samantha is gorgeous but this spelling ruins it.

Lynda/Lynnda
I don't really like Linda, possibly because of the extraordinarily conservative and self-righteous aunt Linda I have. But these spellings look awful to me.

Icis
I prefer Isis.

Derrick
I saw it spelled this way and Derreck, and asked him about it, and he misunderstood me and thought I asked if it was supposed to be Dir-, and he told me, "If you look up [Derrick] in the dictionary, that's how it's spelled, D-e-r." I thought that was funny, since if there was a dictionary full of 'correct' spellings of names, Derrick would probably be Derek.

Garan
"Gare-an," I'd never heard it before.

Sibset: Kathleen and Karlee
Kathleen is nice but Karlee seems like it's just meant to match her sister's name. Carly is better but I still don't care for it.

Sibset: Aidan and Gavin

What are some names besides William that could have Billy as a nn(for a boy)?

also, WDYT of the name Brinson? It's the name of a child from my work, and i'm actually REALLY starting to like it.
