Date: 2008-08-18 02:05 pm (UTC)Very tragic names.
La’Lillian Gwendlian Mariah Tanbreun Shaniqua
Why is it even neccessary to squeeze that many names on a birth certificate?

Date: 2008-08-18 11:05 pm (UTC)I have to think being black in America is difficult enough, you really don't need to be burdened with a ridiculous name as well.

Date: 2008-08-18 11:14 pm (UTC)I don't think it sounds rude, because I was thinking the same about A LOT of these names. I'm sorry but at least 75% of the time, if not more, if you have a name that has random apostrophies, D', L', La, or generally have a bunch of random syllables thrown together...it's a good possibility that the child is black. Or, that's how it seems in my observation at least.

Date: 2008-08-18 11:32 pm (UTC)I don't understand the feeling that every name has to be unique. As if someone having the same name as your child is he worst thing in the world. Names like Emma Rose or Ava Grace are incredibly popular but that doesn't make them bad or terrible.
There's nothing wrong with ordinary. Parents need to realize that.
