Anyone up for yet another game? Yes? Good. =)

The Rules: For every sibset prompt listed, pick a book/movie/tv series & choose related names. (By related I mean that not just characters, but authors, actors, etc. are all fair game.)

1. boy, girl
2. boy, boy
3. girl, girl
4. boy, girl, boy
5. girl, boy, girl

what are the worst names of people you actually know? not just that you've heard, people you know.

my friend's older sister has three children, fayth, cherakee, and kameron (m).

i cannot believe she did that to her poor spawn.

Once again, the little girl I babysit for has provided me with some interesting names.

Her other friend is Jasper. I quite like that name.

Her aunt is pregnant, and they assumed it was going to be a girl since there hasn't been a boy in 4 generations, so they had some girls names ready. (It's going to be a boy, though): Ivy and Ramona. I LOVE Ivy and Ramona's alright. I've thought of doing that as a tribute to The Ramones and I love the Guster song.

I am a bit frustrated by names at the moment.

I am somebody who has always loved names... I've also always had a fascination for languages and word origins and stuff like that. So it is only natural that over my life I have spent a lot more time focusing on names than other people... I like to look up the meanings and origins of names and see which names are the same as each other in other languages, and follow naming trends, etc.

But despite this fascination with names, I am completely unsatisfied with my own preferences and choices of names.

Cut for length...and some names under the cut too )

Does anyone have a reasonable grasp of how gaelic/celtic names come together with their vowels and constanants?

A friend and I (his name is Amargein, pronounced "AW-vuh-reen") were trying to figure out what my name would be in welsh/gaelic/celtic spelling. I tried to look up even "Lucina" and couldn't come up with much.

Maybe someone more familiar might be able to help?

So, since I'm incredibly bored, and since it's my daddy's birthday, these are all of his friends with kids that I can think of. The kids are between the ages of two and nineteen.

Voila. )

my dads friend at work had a little girl...
Brynleigh Rose
I love it.  Rose is kind of a filler name (even though its my middle name too)
but i love Brynleigh, and thinking of using it too...
what do you think?

Characters start off older and get younger.

* asterisks indicate middlename I'm not sure on (or no mn at all) and would like some suggestions, but feel free to give suggestions on other names too. I might like them better than what I've already got.

Okay, so at uni there's this woman in probably her 30s who's name is Sam. I met her on the bus and we started talking. Anyway, she's got 4 kids, the three oldest ones are with her ex-husband or something.

Their names are: Faith (9), Hope (8), Christian (5) and Rudy (f) (almost 1 year)

I find it kind of weird that she named her youngest Rudy when her oldest had names that are so related to religion or whatever.

I love to hear stories behind names! For example, My cousin was named Julisa because her parents each liked Julie & Lisa.

As well my friend's last name is Fischer and for the longest time growing up, she thought 'fish' was spelled 'fisch'. :)

Anyone else have any interesting/amusing stories about names?
