I was looking at my facebook "people you may know" list and I found this gem:

Joeilynnae.

At first I was saying "Jo-el-in-ay" or something like that. But people are calling her Joei so maybe its "Joy-lin-ay". idk.

I'm a Kimya Dawson fan. For those of you who don't know her, she's an awesome musician (she was on over half of the Juno soundtrack). Her daughter's name is Panda Delilah.

WDYT?

I decided to play along and submit a couple of my own photos, which were taken at Dragon*Con last year. I don't think naming the people in these should be challenging. I think multiple choice is easier, but if you think another name would be better for any of us, tell me what you think we look like!

On Monday I heard one mother call out to her two kids. The girl appeared to be 6 years old and the boy was 3 or 4. The girl's name is Modesty, nicknamed Mod-ee (similar to muddy) and the boy's name is Legend. What do you guys think of these names?

My husband and I just found out we're having a girl! Sadly, we both "felt" it was a boy and only decided on a boy name! Of course we are happy to be having a girl, but we have a harder time with names. Then my brother, who's wife is due with a baby six weeks before me, goes and picks a name almost identical to our front runner! Very funny. Anyway, here is our top five (plus one) list we have going now. We are big on family/traditional/classic names. Feel free to comment, or suggest alternates if you are looking at our list going "hey, that's a lot like my list, and I love _____."

Thanks!

Amelia
Clara
Evelyn
Katherine
Margot
and Mary Alice, which we'll use if my brother doesn't name his daughter Alice six weeks before me!

My top of list (most likely to be used in the future) names are:
Kenneth (Kenny) - after my grandfather
Asher
Lucas
Evan/Evander
Ruben
Noah
Isabel
Alexis (Ally)
Ruby
Milla

Most likely used (but not reduced to) middle names are:
James, Francis, Thomas, Ryan, Daniel
Maree, Sylvia, Caitlin, Emma/Emily, Janet (or alternative eg Jane/Jay or something else I can come up with)

WDYT of these? What are some good name combinations?

A friend of mine is due in August and she is deciding between two names for her little girl. I almost dropped the phone when I heard her choices, but please tell me if I am just overreacting or if I am justified in telling her that she is crazy to even suggest these names:

Memorie Rayne (pronounced Memory Rain)
Cairo Lillian (yes, like the city in Egypt)...I do like Lillian tho.

I was flipping through the paper today, came upon the births section and saw this name:
Aynslie
While my mind was still boggling from that I read her older sister's name: Eloise.
How the hell did her parents go from Eloise to Aynslie???

My husband is from The Deep South, and has a younger sister who is due in July.  They are having a boy, and they are naming him:

Tucker Lee.

I don't think Tucker is bad by itself, but they are planning on calling him Tucker Lee.  To me, this is white trash just waiting to happen.  Anyone else agree?  Disagree?

And what's the most redneck name you've ever heard?
