So, I've just finished a work placement, and I came across a few odd names:

Shady (that was her full name)
Madonis (a girl, pron. like a cross between Madonna and Adonis)

Oh, and the girl running it was called Chrystyna Chyrmaria (Chyrmaia was the surname)

So, yeah, what do you think of that lot?

What do you think of the name Amber, spelled Ambre?

I'm not considering it, but I'm watching Rock of Love with Bret Michaels, and one of the girls' name is spelled like this. Everytime I see the name, I want to say it with a weird accent, like ahm-BRAY or something.... sort of Spanish, sort of French.

It's the French word for amber.

I'm newly pregnant, but my husband and I have been talking about names far before TTC.

My husband's favorite name for a girl is Claire, and I like it as well, but I've had a hard time finding a good middle name for it. I've considered using a family name, Marie, but I feel like the pairing of Claire and Marie is kind of...boring?

My favorite pairing is Claire Eloise (so far). What do you think?

Which do you prefer?

And the protagonist is a woman nameed is Oedipa Maas.

I think it was made up specifically for the novel, and stems from Oedipus, the King of thebes in greek litertaure who married his mother and killed his father.

WDYT? Too weird?

Which spelling do you prefer..Killian or Cillian.
I know Cillian is the more traditional way of spelling it, but do you think some people might mispronounce it like "Sillian"?
But on the other hand, if it were Killian, would people automatically think of Killian brand beer?
