I'm newly pregnant, but my husband and I have been talking about names far before TTC.
My husband's favorite name for a girl is Claire, and I like it as well, but I've had a hard time finding a good middle name for it. I've considered using a family name, Marie, but I feel like the pairing of Claire and Marie is kind of...boring?
My favorite pairing is Claire Eloise (so far). What do you think?
Which do you prefer?

Date: 2008-03-03 04:14 am (UTC)Claire Eloise looks pretty, but it's hard to say since the end of Claire ad the beginning of Eloise blend together.
You would definitely need a long middle name, and one that doesn't start with a vowel (it blends too much to be two distinct names).

Date: 2008-03-03 05:41 am (UTC)I know, and I've hated everything with it until I saw Eloise. I think the "air" end of Claire and the "eh" beginning of Eloise don't run into eachother too much.

it's hard to find something that flows with claire, especially without a last name.
a few others that i think sound pretty:
claire noelle
claire renee
claire elise
claire olivia
Claire
Date: 2008-03-03 08:59 am (UTC)I like Claire Emmeline for the sound and roll of it.
There is also a beautiful old song called "Claire de le Lune" (sp?) meaning light of the moon. I don't know if you'd be interested as it sounds like more traditional names appeal to you, but Claire is a wonderful name to work with in terms of imagery.
