I was set on using May as a middle name for a hypothetical future daughter, but recently I've become pretty sure that I want to use it as a first name instead. To me, it has all the factors I look for in a name: I like the sound, it's an established name, it's not popular (not even in the top 1000), and it has a lot of meaning for me.

The only problem is, I can't think of a good middle name for it. The two middle names I like most (Ruth and Jane) are also one syllable, and I want to stay away from that. I thought of Elizabeth, but I'm not sure if it flows that well. Right now I'm thinking Vivian, because I like its meaning, and it seems to go pretty well with May.

Of course, I still have plenty of time to decide, but I was wondering if you guys could possibly think up some other middle name options for May? People in this community are really good at this!

Do you ever hear really pretty names that you'd never concider using? Like on sci-fi shows or in fairy tales - names that are really pretty words, and work in a fantasy reality, but you'd never use on a kid?

I was watching some show, possibly on the sci-fi channel, and there were two characters called Whisper and Chicane. I like them in the abstract, but they just aren't real names, y'know?

Just wondering if anyone ever heard similar made-up type names they wanted to share?

My husband and I have a daughter named Liliana Pearl and while we're not ttc again yet, we've been talking about names for future siblings. :) We are out of ideas for names that go with our daughter's name and have even tried using nymbler for ideas! hehe

So, what would you name Liliana Pearl's potential brother or sister?
I'm open to any suggestions! Thanks in advance!

What do you think of the name Lota? (Loe-ta). I think it's Filipino, though don't quote me on that.

That's one of my coworker's names. She hates it because of how uncommon it is (she's never met another Lota). I like it though- it sounds really pretty. I normally hate odd names, too.

Which is considered the "masculine" spelling: Devon or Devin?
I'm writing a story, and it's the male characters name, but I want to make sure I have it spelled the right way

Thanks in advance!

Okay.  So after much discussion, stemming from the fact that his brother and sister-in-law had inordinate difficulty in choosing a name for their son (he doesn't have a middle name because they could only agree on [Poll #1125331]

The finalists. )

We're pretty much set on Oscar Rey as a boys name as both names have special meaning to my partner and I; but I'm always changing my mind on the girls name because I love so many of them!

If you guys have ideas for middle names for our possible future daughter, I'd love to hear them :)

So, what do you think would go good with Remi? Or Remy. Those are the only two spellings I like, really.

There's a story behind it, but I'm really actually fond of that name.

Hey. It's been a while since I went online. I don't know if you remember me. But I thought you might be interested to know, I ended up having a beautiful little girl on December 7th. Her name is Scarlett June. I just wanted to say thankyou for all your help choosing her name. It truly suits her, i can't see her with any other name. My boyfriend and I are already talking about planning for number two!
Again, thankyou.

One of my clients had a son Saturday (well, his girlfriend did). She named the baby Sha'Christian Kalvin Ray lastname (I'm guessing at the spelling of the first name).

So, in the spirit of Sha'Christian, here are this weeks...interesting names -
