So... writing a story/book/novel whatever. Need a name for the bad guy. He's obsessive and has kind of a short temper... kind of want him to go by a shortened version of a longer and possibly embarassing name.  He's kind of a computer geek, but still knows his way around the woods, etc. He fancies himself a suspense novel writer and has some serious issues. Anyway, suggestions would be appreiciated.

How do you pronounce Declan? I met a woman with a baby named "DECK-len" and I assume this is the same name. I though it was pronounced deh-clHAN (Imagine Mike Myers style Scottish accent)

I figured I might as well list the baby names I've heard at work. These are the names of kids 0-3 years old:
Evan and Jake
Evan and Lucy
Gabe and Zoe (twins)
Evan
Tiana
Taj
Adien
Bobby
Garrett
Ava
Chloe
Tyler
Brady
Lily
Harry
Jamison (???)
Paul
Kira
Levi
Declan

And two older girls:
Clara
Sabrina

Which do you like/dislike? Here is a little quiz - I heard one of these names twice, on a boy and a girl. And one of these names I heard on a little baby and a pug on the same day. Guess the two repeated names.

Do you guys have names on your list that YOU say a certain way, but OTHERS say a completely different way? But you love the name too much to take it off, even though you know it's going to be a hassle to keep reminding everyone how to say it?

We're trying to decide if we would ever use Juliana, pronounced our preferred way of yoo-lee-AH-nah. But we're worried that too many people would pronounce it joo-lee-AH-nah, which is a pronunciation I flat-out hate. We've considered Uliana, but I'm not too fond of the spelling -- it's just "okay".

So, anyone else have names like this? I know Sara/Sarah is a very common one. And thoughts on the name Juliana in general? Thoughts on Uliana?

This has been on my mind for awhile - it seems to be important to this community to have sib-sets that work well together but don't match. So what about parent/children set names? For example: If Christopher and Katherine have a baby whichsounds better: Zoe or Elizabeth? Zayden or William? (Think about length, nn options, "type" of name) Natasha, Silas and Bob wouldn't make a great sibset, but what if it was a mother, father and son? I know that many couples won't have names that make a "set" - but I bet a great deal do in one sense or another. Ok, have at it.
