My name is Carlie, but it was going to be Christa until, 2 weeks before I was born, a couple who lived around the corner from my parents named their newborn son Christopher. My parents and his parents really weren't that close, they just attended the same church. I always thought it was odd that they thought our names would be too close, lest we end up in the same classes, I guess?

My top names right now (not pg or ttc yet) are Ava, Kira and Mia (I'm hoping for only daughters!). However, my best friend's brother and his wife are naming their soon-to-be-born daughter Kira. she is due in december.

Will I still be able to use this name in good conscience and good taste? or is it too confusing? are there guidelines for this? Just for the record, the only "repeat" names in my extended family are Karen, Katie, and John/Jonathan

I kid you not...

I have a friend on Yahoo whose daughter just had a baby girl....

She named her LaQuiefa Diamond.

Anyone else see the ass kicking party lining up already?

As I've done a million times, I am posting my favourite names list. But this time it has some new names on it I love. And I've made a middle name section as well. And I am completly bored, so this helps pass on the time for me.

Okay, becuase of my new friend [livejournal.com profile] soleilshine, I was thinking about the name Soleil for a girl. Pronounced the French way: so-lay, so as in, like, sewing.

WDYT?

I've been a member of this community for what seems like ages and never done this. So...

My list! )

With only three weeks left, the bf and I have finally decided on a first name for our little girl. We are going to name her Isabelle. I liked the name Elle, but he calls the baby Izzy, because I had originally had Isabelle picked out for a middle name. Since we didn't want to change the cute nickname he had picked out for her, and Elle Isabelle just sounds awful, heh, we thought Isabelle would be fitting. However, we can't decide on a middle name. We wanted something short and sweet, because our last name is eight letters long, and Isabelle is pretty long as well. I would appreciate any suggestions you have in mind!

So I saw an old friend of mine the other day and she's 8 months pregnant. She's 19 and having a girl blah blah blah.

Anyway, of course the first question is 'what are you naming her?'

'Valkyrie.'

pronounced val-KYE-ree.

...it's an interesting name in theory but really, it kind of makes me wanna facepalm. :(

Oh well. What do you all think?
