I honestly love my name.. Kimber Leigh... (yes, they are seperate and Leigh is my middle name..)  However, I absolutely hate it when people refuse to call me by the correct name..  Even after I've introduced myself and politely corrected them when they got it wrong.. (how hard is it really to just call me Kimber??)  I've put together a list of all the names I get called.. (sometimes on a daily basis)

Kim
Kimberly
Kimba
Kimbra
Amber
Kemper
Ginger
Timber
Komber (this is a new one i just got today - they actually spelled my name this way on the envelope..and it was hand written so, not a typo.)

feel free to comment and share the incorrect names you get called..

For 1986, my name, Alyssa, was pretty unusual in my area of the world (Minnesota). In elementary school I was called Alicia all the time! Because I didn't talk back then, I would never correct the teacher and always relied on my peers to do it and they usually did. When my parents would tell someone my name they'd think they heard it wrong and say, "Melissa?" and my mom would say, "No, the 'M' is silent." On paper people spell my name wrong all the time. Allyssa, Alissa, Alysa, Allysa etc. I remember getting one of my books signed by Al Franken last year and he asked my name and I told him and then asked me to spell it and he just had this funny look on his face like he never would have guessed that was how you spelled it.

I accidentally call our graduate student named Alissa that works with us Alicia all the time and I feel SO BAD. It just slips out sometimes. D=
