Here are the children of the most recent lot of parents with literacy problems:

In fact, this week the majority of kids were blessed with normal names!

[Siblings in brackets]

Lachlan Robert
Jack Glenn [Glenn is the fathers first name]
Darcy Bruce Alexander
Samuel Bruce
Adam Garry [Mackaela, Ryan]
Lachlan Jack [Maddy - don't know what it's short for]
Edward Frederick [Alexander]
Luca James [Sienna]
Matthew Henry
Zane Luca
Finn Charlie
William Angus

Ava Elyse - this does not flow at all to me
Eva [Joshua, Kiara]
Britney Lee
Ayla Maree
Lahni Asha
Matilda Kate [Tom, Flynn, Eden] - I love this sibset.
Chelsey Jayde [Ethan, Thomas]
Lacey May
Alexis Anne [Charlie, Sam]

Some of the PARENTS names interested me also:

Bernadette
Angela
Flora
Diana
Raquel
Thelma
Selena
Juliana

Heath
Timothy
Jamie
Warwick - There was a Warwick last week too.

ALSO - In the birthdays section I just noticed this name:

Mariclare

Eh? Has anyone seen this name before? It isn't intended to be new or trendy, because this person was turning 30!

I have never seen it spelled like that before, but it's a decent French name when spelled Marie Claire (or with a hyphen between those names).

Also, I love the name Diana, and Selena is cute too.

Usually Marie Claire is pronounced as Mariclaire anyway.
Like Marryclaire rather than the usual hyhenated pronunciation of names.
As far as smushness goes this is quite acceptable to me...after all we have Mariella, Marianne.. why not Mariclaire.

Don't like it much, but it's not awwwful.

Marie Claire is the title of a women's magazine :P

The names aren't that bad, there are just a couple that are kr8ivv

Marie-Claire is French, I guess this is just an alternative spelling.

I like:

Luca James
Finn Charlie, though I prefer Finlay/Finley

I love Ava Elyse. Gorgeous spelling, and it doesn't flow too well but that's no major compared to the gross tacky eighties's inspired Britney Lee.

and what do you mean literacy problems? The only odd spelling i can see is Maree.

I've never seen Mariclare, but I know a Marie-Claire (she's French).

Where are you from? I'm surprised at some of the names, including TWI Lachlans and a Flora (though she's one of the mommies).

Darcy Bruce Alexander - Not too fond of Bruce, but it sounds nice here!
Edward Frederick [Alexander]- Nice sibset!

I like:
Lachlan Robert
Darcy Bruce Alexander
Samuel Bruce
Lachlan Jack
Edward Frederick
Alexander (and Edward & Alexander are such cute sibling names:))
Luca James
Matthew Henry
William Angus
Lacey May

I'm indifferent about:
Jack Glenn - both are decent names, but they don't flow well together
Adam Garry - I don't like either name, but it's not bad
Matilda Kate - It's okay, but not my style
Alexis Anne

I hate:
Mackaela - WTF! Ugh!
Zane Luca
Finn Charlie - I like both names, but (a) it sounds awful, (b) Charlie needs to be CHARLES. Charlie is a NICKNAME.
Ava Elyse - Ava is SO trendy; I do like Elyse, though.
Eva - ditto
Britney Lee - Britney? Really? I thought that name had gone the same way as Paris or Pamela.
Ayla Maree - Eww.
Lahni Asha - Same.
Chelsey Jayde - it's like the 80s all over again...

I think people want to do something like Mary Clare, but want it to be all one name and are afraid of they separate it the kid will end up just "Mary" when they want their kid to be Mary Clare! so they cram it all together and change the y to an i. my mom has a friend like this, but her name is Mariceleste (her mom's name is Celeste, I think she might be a little crazy). it gets mispronounced a lot, and she mainly goes by Mari (pronounced like Mary) anyway. and she's close to my mom's age, pushing 50.

Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who can get a bit twitchy with celebrity names. Right now, I do NOT think I would want to be naming my child Britney. It's a nice name and all, but...yeah, not so much.
