If you HAD to have a sibset of names from one particular country or culture...what would you pick?

Please feel free to comment on my sibset also

Mine would be Irish...not only b/c I am 3/4 Irish but I think they have great names.

Boys:

Tadhg (pn tie-guh..like Tiger without the -er)

btw i know this would be a huge sibset...I just listed all my favorite Irish names lol. You don't have to list as many!

I'd probably go with either Hebrew or Irish names. I prefer the Anglicanized spellings of the names, though, just because I don't live (or plan to live) in heavily Jewish or Irish areas, so the traditional spellings of names might be really hard for people to pronounce.

Hebrew:
Asher, Ezra, Noah, Isaac
Rachael, Hannah, Abigail, Judith

Irish:
Seamus, Liam, Brendan, Patrick
Eileen, Caitlin, Molly, Rosaleen,

By the way, I LOVE the names Ryan, Sean, and Seamus for boys, and Neve, Neela, Cara, and Anya for girls. I think I'd like Tadhg better if it was spelled Teague, which I saw on a list as the Anglicized version of the name. I mean, I know some people feel really strongly about not using the alternative spellings, but I think it would be way easier to pronounce it if you don't live in Ireland.

I'm the same way. I outside of nyc and i live in a very irish neighborhood...but outside of these few blocks no one would get it. However, I have a neighbor named Tadhg and he said he doesnt have a lot of problems with his name. Another alternative is Tighe. So thats an option too


and I forgot Liam...I love that name too.

Tadhg is my neighbors sons name. He was born in Ireland and the say it tie-guh...so thats what i go by lol

I'm Dutch, but most of my fave names are English, Hebrew or Gaelic names...so it'd be one of those...

Yeah so is my neighbor (Tadhg) they said it like Tie-gue though but I think with my accent...Tie and Tay are very similar lol

For my girls, I would love French names. And not the English equivelant, actual French. For boys, I like Gaelic and Dutch names.

Girls: Amélie, Louise, Joséphine, Élise

I love Welsh names (but I suppose I'm biased what with being Welsh and everything).

I'd probably go for Carys or Catrin for a girl and Geraint for a boy.
