What do you think of the name Thomasin or Tamsin?

Tamsin is one of my favorite names. It's beautiful.

I'm not crazy about it the least bit, but if you like it..why not? :)

Thomasine was my French name in French class in high school, so I like it!

Thomasin seems a bit unwieldy, but Tamsin has a nice, neat, compact feel to it.

According to The Baby Name Wizard, Tamsin is a common nickname for Thomasin(a), both are female forms of Thomas, are real names, and haven't been in the top 1000 in the last couple hundred years in the US. Even though they're not my style, they're good names (assuming you're using them for a girl).

Tamsin doesn't seem too far from other girl names that are "trendy", like Ainsley or Katelyn, so a little Tamsin would have no trouble fitting in. Thomasin may be a little tougher for some to like, but Tamsin could be a good nickname.

Old fashioned + uncommon + no negative associations (like Mildred or Gertrude) = a really good, solid name, IMO. Add that it has a cute nickname that fits in with classmates along with a more formal version, and you've hit gold. Go for it!

Thomasin - I kinda like it, but it seems a bit too masculine for me, and I even like boyish-sounding names for girls. I prefer Tamsin a lot more.

Thomasin is kind of... nyeh. It's uncommon, yet still kind of boring. Eh, it's okay I guess. But I'm not fond of it. It has no real magic.

Tamsin, however, is very beautiful, and would be especially interesting if the family name started with T.

Thomasin is nmsaa. My best friend is named Tamsin Colleen Campbell. I like the name because of her. Otherwise, it's alright. I call her 'Tam'.

Ugh. They both sound terrible and unwieldy to me.

I like them.

I like Tamsin. There is a British actress called Tamzin (last name Outhwaite), so the name isn't so outdated (yet is still v unusual, especially with the "z" spelling!).

My best childhood friend was named Tamsen. People always loved her name. The name is so uncommon, the fact that they spelled it differently was never an issue. And actually, beyond just being more used to it, I prefer the soften 'en' ending as well as avoiding the word 'sin' that kind of jumps out of the more common spelling.

But yes, I like the name a lot, and am honestly surprised that Tamsin hasn't caught on more. It has a nice sound. It isn't too complicated or fussy/frilly. It's a good solid name that a kid won't share with a zillion other girls.

I don't care for Thomasin. It's too male sounding -- like "we really wanted a boy but this girl was born instead... I guess we better name her somehing other than Thomas..." Obvious feminine versions of male names have a tendency to bug me that way.
