Is there a story behind that? Somehow the name seems incredibly "creative" for your grandpa's time period...I'd think Dennis would've been more common then...

I prefer Dennis, but Dennix is kind of cool. If it was a family name in my family, I'd use it. Denny is a cute nickname.

I don't like it because I don't like Dennis and they're similar.
If it was your grandpa, though, it was your grandpa. That is a good reason no matter the name, IMO. :)
