I keep seeing lots of uncommon and/or made up names lately. I really don't care for this trend and hope to name my kids something pretty normal that everyone has heard of before. My husband especially doesn't like uncommon and/or made up name as his parents made up his sister's name (and everyone always butchers it) and his mom has a rather unique name she never liked much.

Is anyone else kind of fed up with the "Let's give our child an unique/made up name!" trend? If so, what names do you like?

I hate the made up names too, but I do like the less common names. Sort of old school names that I personally haven't heard on anyone my age.. Unfortunatly they're now too popular on the under 5's :-(

That's how I feel. In the few years, when we have kids, our kid's names will be so uncommon with the under five crowd.

BTW, My sister is Elyse and I love that name.

Elyse is the French spelling, I love love love it. It will almost definitely be a middle name :-)

Yes. I think I might use it as a middle name. I have a sister and an aunt Elyse, so it's too common in my family.
