to me Hadley is a last name... and masculine at that.

please do not curse anyone with (ann-tah-NEE-uh) seeing as it will most always be pronounced (ann-TOE-nyah)!!! and i have to say i absolutely adore the name Ada, simply beautiful. I really love Finn for a boy, but then again I like Ashley for a boy too and I know loads of people would disagree, but anywho that's my two cents (though more like 20...)

harper is my #1 choice for our girlie (due july 10). i pushed for it with our 5 year old but her father said no and he still says no. "to kill a mockingbird" is my favorite book and also my grandmother's maiden name is harper so i'm really stuck on it.

my mom and i are down to bribing my fiance to get the name. apparently, if we buy him an apple iPhone when it's released, i can name her Harper. sooo sad...my baby's daddy is a total geek nerd.

What's Aurelia from? The only near-literary reference I can think of (added to the fact that I'm a book nazi) is Sylvia Plath's mom.

I have a dog Scout, so that's a no-go for me.

Atticus is amazing!

Girls:
Ada- very pretty alternative to Ava.
Ántonia (ann-tah-NEE-uh)- well the pronunciation seems a little off to me, I don't think you could get away with it unless you were from wherever that dialect is from.. I do like the name though.
Aurelia- Adore.
Elizabeth- boring.
Fleur- Pretty, but I like most things french.
Hadley- Way too masculine.
Harper- Again, too masculine. Reminds me of harpooning Whales.
Louisa- I prefer this to Louise, but then I absolutely detest Louise, I love Eloise though. Odd,
Scout- eh read another book!
Willa- don't like.

Boys:
Ashley- So chavvy, common.. ergh
Atticus- A bit OTT, again.. bored of the TKAMB references.
Bennet- don't like
Finn- like
George- don't like
Nicholas- don't like
William- hate

Her name was actually Nelle. We read about her in English while studying TKaM.
