Thoughts on Avonell as a girl's name?

I used to babysit a girl with that name, and her parents called her Avey. (This was about 15 years ago.) It's always stuck out in my brain as one of the oddest names where I just think, "How did they come up with that one?" For the first few times I babysat her, I thought her name was Abby, not Avey.

It sounds like some of those made-up Southern names that were popular in the 1930s-1950s, like LaRue or DaChelle.

It also reminds me of "Avonlea"

I've always heard it as "Chesty LaRue." :)

And don't be embarrassed to love Avonlea or anything associated with Anne. I'm naming my first daughter after her.

I think it sounds like a medication.

"Ask your doctor about Avonell today."

Yech.

That's why it was so familiar to me! I knew there was a reason.
