I have been teaching in the 0-12 month Sunday School class this quarter (my son is 8.5 months old). What do you think of the names of these babies (off the top of my head, there may be some more that don't come as often)

I think the only one I'm not crazy about is Reagan, but I don't hate it. Most of the rest of them are names I actually really love! My favorites are Reese, Payton, Avery, Hayley [though I like it better Haley], Anderson, Jackson, Hunter & Brady.

Ben is my son...I was worried that it is pretty common, but with 2 Carters in the 0-12 month class and at least one, maybe 2 in the 12-24 month class and my son the only Ben up till the school aged kids, you might have more to worry about than me ;)

I don't get Anderson. What was wrong with Anders? Maybe cuz it's my last name, it sounds weird. Reagan has always been a favorite, but at first I thought that list was boys!

Although the overall "feel" of this list is way too trendy (and too American) for me, as individual names most of them aren't completely awful.

Reese - I don't like this on a girl or spelled any way other than Rhys.
Payton - Horrible.
Reagan - If it was Regan I would actually like it.
Avery (x2) - It always makes me think of birds (avery -> aviary). Also I was at primary school with a boy whose surname was Avery so it makes me think of thant.
Hayley - It's ok if a little trashy.
Bella - Pretty enough.

Cason - Don't like it but there are worse names I suppose.
Carter (x2) - I don't like the "surnames as first names" trend but this isn't one of the worst.
Anderson - LOL - to me this seems like a really odd thing to name your kid! I mean, it's not horrible it just doesn't seem like a first name.
Jackson - There are two exceptions to my dislike of surnames as first names - Jackson and Harrison. I like it. I think it's because I was really into Jackson Pollock when I was younger, and also Patti Smith named her kid Jackson (after him).
Hunter - It's a bit of a silly name I think. I wouldn't ever use it but I can't help but kind of like it!
Benjamin - Nice enough.
Dylan - I love this name. It was top of my list of boys' names for ages but I'm really put off by how popular it's become. It's starting to look a little tacky to me too...
Nathan - I have always hated this name so much. Nathaniel is nicer.
Colton - Don't like it. It just doesn't sound like a name to me.
Brady - It sounds so cheesy - makes me think of the Brady Bunch! Still, there are worse names I guess.

Yeah, that was him at 3 months...he is now almost 9 months..too fast!
I think it is the overall feel that gets to me in the class...just having them all together in one room.

Reese is my stepdaughters MN, and it's a family surname. I like surnames used as middle names - my MN is my grandmother's maiden name.

I really like Jackson - we plan to use it for a future son, again, it has family history - Jack is a name used by a few older family members.

I kinda like surnames as middle names too, but only if they have some meaning. personally i changed my middle name to my maiden surname when i got married.

There is not one name on the girls' list that I would even consider naming my daughter.

Out of the boys I only like Benjamin and Nathan, but even then, not very much. Some of them are just ridiculous. Cason? COLTON?

And, on a completely unrelated note: you have a Sunday School class for 0-12 month-old children? Do you actually teach them, or is it just a daycare type thing? I'm just curious, as my church has no such thing that I know of.

About 30 minutes is playing and about 20 minutes is them sitting in the little seats in the table singing songs and they each get a toy that goes along with the songs. By the time they move up to the 12-24 month room some of them will do the hand movements that go along with the songs :) Most of the songs have to do either with the bible, going to church, or the fact that God made lots of things (Butterflies, birds, bunnies, ducks, fish...)
