WDYT?

Taryn is the definite spelling of the first name and the mn is definitely some form of Elise. I knew someone with the spelling Alyse and have always preferred it for some reason but I'm not sure quite how I feel about so many 'y's as I'm not a fan of substituting them for other letters... Opinions on the spelling or the name in general?

The correct spelling.

it's pretty unanimous.

Wow, yeah. I'm personally glad because I strongly dislike replacing other letters with Y. I know I would never spell it any other way then 'Elise' and I don't think most people will...they'd have to find out "oh yeah I spell it Elyse" or something...=|

Elise definitely. I know a girl who spells it Alysse... yikes I'm hesitant to share that as I don't think it should catch on :P Elise is pretty, it's my nieces middle name.

yep that's how she pronounces it.

Great name choice! :)

Normally, i don't like "y"s for the sake of "y"s, but in this case, I like #1 simply because of how the names would look in cursive, and the first one looks very pretty while the others look disjointed.

I actually like Taryn AliCe. I think all the other alice's look... odd. I like good, old, classic Wonderland Alice.

I think she's pronouncing it El-LEESE.

Oh. o_O

Ummm... I'd personally stay away from starting with the "A" then. I can forsee many mis-pronounciations if one was reading it aloud. I, for one, would have said "AH-Lis", not El-LEESE.

Sorry!

Sorry there. *giggles* I was reading, but not GETTING what you were asking, so that was my confusion.

I'd definitely stay away from the "a" then, for the sake of other goofs like me ;).

I definitely say Taryn Elise. Taryn by itself is striking, but add any more ys and you're getting into White Trashville, where the weather is always a balmy Kentucky Fried degrees. If one day Taryn seems too trendy, she will have a more classic name, with Elise, to fall back on. Definitely, definitely I vote for Elise!

No offense but I can't stand the spelling Alyse, and Alise is just as bad. I have met a girl called Alyse and she had so much trouble with it, most people thought it was meant to be Alice.. and that would be even more likely with Alise. Elise starts with E. If you really can't bring yourself to use the original spelling please at least keep the E!! It's too confusing and mangled otherwise. I agree with the poster above me too that it's better not to have a Y since you have one in Taryn.

Taryn Elise is a beautiful name btw congrats :)

That's what I immediately thought- that it looks like Alice. Elise is such a gorgeous name in the original spelling.

I'm biased. I love my name. Elyse will always look funny to me, Alyse doesn't look like a real name, and Alise is just an odd name.
