stupid spellings
I'm in nursing school, and the other day at the hospital, I saw two employees with totally normal names but spelled completely ridiculously.
Stacye
and
Mellany
The second one I thought was a totally different name, and I sat there looking at the schedule where it was written thinking it was Muh-LAN-ny or something until it hit me that it was Melanie. I think these kinds of spellings are totally pointless and cause unnecessary confusion for these people, probably for their entire lives.
And in other news, my best friend just found out she's pregnant so when she gets around to picking names, I'm sure I'll be posting them here.

That's just silly
And Mellany just looks like the parents didn't know the proper way to spell Melanie and never bothered to look it up
Re: That's just silly
I see that people think they are being original or creative by take names like Melanie and making a new spelling.
