[identity profile] jojodancer77.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Ok, so my gf and I are about to start trying for a baby. I have had a list of names I've liked for years..But only girl names. No boys. I could use some boy names..and here are my girl names. You can help with middle names as most of them are just first names. The last name will be Conger.  Feel free to change up the ones I have as to what you think will sound better.

Willow
Rogue
Harper
Aislyn  I pronounce it  (AS LYNN) like it or not..thats how I want it to be
Lyric
October
Quinn
Scout

And I remembered a boy name i liked...Gideon.

I was thinking...
October Quinn
Lyric Harper
Willow Quinn

I've always seen Quinn as a boy's name but I was recently told it goes both ways.

I like Willow Quinn though that sounds nice.

Aislyn is pronounced ASH-lin, just to let you know.

I actually kind of like October...it's definitely different, but almost a little too different for me to ever want to use. But I've always liked names of uncommon months [ex. January or July instead of May, June, April, etc.] And though you'll almost definitely get flack from people on here for Lyric, I love it because I babysat the sweetest girl in the world named Lyric for years, but now I'm just afraid that people will associate it with Ashley Parker Angel's son. Her name was Lyric Rae, though, just a suggestion. I also really like Willow, but I'm not crazy about Quinn for either Willow or October. It sounds a little too harsh, especially with October.

Some boys names suggestions that I would have are Castor, Taston, Garrick, or even Quinn, which could be a boys name.

To each their own.

I originally loved the name myself, well spelled Aislin but I thought it was pronounced "eyes-lin". I was informed by my very Irish grandmother that it was ASHLING and I decided it was a no go. To close to Ashley for me. I do like the AS-LYNN sound but I think it will kind of suck to continually correct people on how to say the name.

I like... Quinn. I'd stay away from Harper and October since the "er" in Conger too. Aislyn makes me think of the lion in The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, which then just makes me think of Jesus... Lyric is just... ghetto to me and the rest are too connected to characters for me to like.

Castor? Is that a real name... sorry it makes me think of Castor oil and I have never heard of it.

I agree on hating ASHLEY. That is why we dropped it..

For boys maybe a Gaelic name? It seems like one would look nice with the last name.

Seamus, Sean, Desmond, Colum, Liam, Malachi, Oisin,

I know, that's why I was asking. Since I hadn't heard of it I wanted to ask if it was a "real" name, or if people know of others named this. I'm not even saying I don't like it, it just makes me think of Castor Oil...

Agreed. Even I don't like it enough to name my own kid that, I was just suggesting it. And like I tell my fiance, just because you've never heard it or it reminds you of something, doesn't mean it's not a name.

Oh, and it was also Nicolas Cage's character in Face/Off.
