What do you guys think of naming kids after characters, middle names included?

Ex. Say Mr and Mrs Johnson are having a baby boy, named Harry Potter Johnson (but obviously something less mainstream), or if they're having a girl, Rory Gilmore Johnson.

Because I've recently begin to obsess over the Kill Bill movies, and I think it would be really nice if I were to have a kid named Beatrix Kiddo DiCaprio (because, you know, me and Leonardo are meant to be). Anyway, what do you guys think of it?

Tacky, cute, or meh?

PS- The character, Beatrix Kiddo is strong and isn't wimpy and delicate, so I figure it could have positive associations. And in twenty years or so, kids her age (and people my age) won't immediately think 'AHA!' if it were Harry Potter or something.

Maybe if it were a book or movie that has been extremely influential. . .over the long-term.

What if the child grows up, sees the film, and hates it? I think the name sounds nice, but it would be dragging too much with it.

I think it's tacky and pretty immature. First name is one thing. Beatrix is an okay name by itself. But to name a kid after a character you may not care about in ten years and the child may never care about is pretty short-sighted.

I really don't like it when people name their kids after tv/movie/literary characters. It's just weird to me, especially if you give the poor kid that character's entire name. Beatrix itself would be ok, although it still makes me scream "fangirl!" on the inside, but Beatrix Kiddo is really bad. =/

Also, I really hope Mr. and Mrs. Johnson don't name their kid Harry. That's just mean.

I think using a first name after a character is cool, especially if it's not something terribly obvious like Anakin. I don't like using the character's last name as a middle, though.

Its not mainstream enough to be tacky. I'm a Kill Bill fan, it's been a while, but I don't even remember the name and I doubt everyone and their brother will, either.

LOL, Kiddo as a middle name is awesome. I think as a first name it would be even better.

and while beatrix is a very strong character, she's also very vengeful, which isnt exactly a good thing.

I've been thinking about using the combo David Addison Lastname for a son, but I really like Addison for a girl, but it has become way too popular for me. I like David but it's not one I adore like some others. If you don't know where David Addison comes from, he's played by Bruce Willis in the show Moonlighting. It was an 80's comedy show.
