A lot of those names (Hamish, Rhys, Flynn, Callum, Imogen) are English/Celtic/Welsh etc. because there are still many families whose ancestors are from those countries in Australia. Hamish is a Scottis name (actually, a form of James) and definitely pretty common in Australia.

I'm surprised you've never heard of the names Imogen and Gemma as they're, yeah, extremely well-known over here. In my year at school alone, I knew at least four Imogens and Gemmas. Gemma means gem/jewel, and Imogen is another Celtic name meaning maiden.

Zara, apart from being the name of one of the Queen's granddaughters, is a varient of Sarah. I know a couple of Zaras. Beau... well, I only know one Beau and he got his name because his mother just liked it, but probably a lot of the younger Beaus are getting their names from an actor called Beau Brady who is/was (have no idea becuase I've never watched it!) on one of the most popular soap operas in Australia.

Hmm... yeah, just expanding your knowledge of Australian names!
