Dec. 12th, 2006 09:08 pmI just got married. (yay!)
And my last name is Hazzard now.
We are naming our first son John - who will be called Jack. I think it sounds ok. Jack Hazzard.
But we were agreed on naming the next child "Tom"
and now I'm falling in love with the name "Maxwell" and it's driving me nuts.
Would a child named Maxwell be automatically called "Max" by his peers?
Max Hazzard would just be mean, I think.

Date: 2006-12-13 05:37 am (UTC)I have a cousin named Joshua. His mom hates the name Josh, so she refuses to let us call him that, but people still do it because people are, in general, rather lazy and would prefer to say a one syllable name. Personally, I can't call people by their given name. It's just my thing. I call him Josue, since he's Mexican, and it's kinda stuck with his mom.
