Accent marks
Dec. 11th, 2006 06:00 pmWhat's your opinion on including an accent mark in your child's name?
For example:
Zoë
František
André
Too much bureaucratic trouble (likely to be misspelled or not fit in standardized forms)? Too pretentious? Or totally reasonable, because you're just spelling it properly?
Do accent marks make it onto the official birth certificate?

Date: 2006-12-11 10:42 pm (UTC)I'd probably try to get them on the birth certificate and maybe use them occasionally, just for fun. But I would be comfortable knowing that most of the time they won't be used - that would just be a frustrating lost battle.
