What do you guys think of the name Flora?
My mum hates it. She cringes whenever I say it. My sister doesn't really care, and my best friend can't see it on a real person.
You?

I'd been wondering what was so significant about Nevaeh. And now I know!
And it's a refreshing change from the girl-Stevies and Vicktoreyas.

That's understandable.
I've plenty of names that are nice to me, but not my favourite.

I'm not crazy over it but it's ok.
and I actually knew a Flora & a Floribeth -called Flory(I know not exactly the same but just to point out that IRL it doesn't seem so Disney-ish). both were of Hispanic descent.

At least Flora is the best of the faeries (name wise)?

Unless you'd take the 'Sara' route and just call the person by their full name...?

Florence has drifted on and off of my list. If I were to use it, I'd want my daughter's nickname to be Flora. I would hate it if she were called Flo.

I was talking with my mum and she said despite the name being icky, it's better than Flora. And I agreed saying, I'm sure there isn't any good nickname for Flora.

Just think of all the wonderful names you can work with: Ike, or Juno, or Nan or Mike or Winston...
